June 1 - Labor Day, Curves of Tuscola Fights Teen Obesity with Camp Curves.
Local women's fitness franchise invites mothers and daughters to summer camp.  Camp Curves is a 6-week program filled with arts, crafts, games and workouts, all designed to encourage weight loss and implement a fitness routine into your life.

June 2 - August 8 - Summer Youth Camp for ages 6-12 years.  There will be five (5) two-week sessions.  You can sign up for as many as you like.  There will be different themes each week.

(1) Welcome Week - activities to learn about each other and friendship

      Super Star - singing, dancing and a short play production

      Surrounded by Science - fun age appropriate experiments in physics and chemistry

      Our World in Color - expressions in color using various art forms

(2) Sports Week - a week to try the basics of various sports 

(3) Water Week - fun water games and activities to learn more about the watery world around us.

(4) 4-H Week - programs with the 4-H Douglas Moultrie County Extension Office

(5) Freedom Week - patriotic activities

     Cooking for Kids - Learn to eat and cook healthy tasty foods with local cooks

(6) Flexible Week - whatever the kids want to learn more about 

Swimming every week at Ervin Park, daily outside activities, sports and games.  Snack time daily.  (Children bring own lunch)

June 7 - Wheels Car Club presents the 20th Annual Spring Fling from 6:00 to 10:00 pm.  We will cruise downtown Tuscola, Rt. 36 and I-57  Cruise the Wick, with Jim Easter.  Registratin starts at 6pm $5.00 entry fee.  Dash Plaques.  There will also be awards for top 50 cruisers.  Club Choice Trophy, 52" tall  Car Club participation trophy.  All years of vehicles welcome.. July 20 and 27 - 2:30 p.m. Award-Winning Actors’ Rural Theatre Company will be presenting their annual upcoming summer musical--- Rodgers & Hammerstein's, Oklahoma!   Performance dates are July 17-20, 24-27.  Thursday through Saturday performances will begin at 7 p.m.  Sunday matinees will begin at 2:30.  Ticket prices are $11 adults, $9 Seniors/Students, and $5 for 12 and under. August 1 - Tuscola Airport, Battle Creek is pleased to announce the addition of a show at the Tuscola Airport on Friday August 1st at 7:00pm. The date became available when the Walnut Point shows were cancelled for the remainder of the season. Spread the word that the Tuscola Airport will have LIVE Country Music - open to the public - on Friday evening August 1st. The show will be outside unless weather prohibits - then the music will be moved inside of one of the airport hangers. There will be planes flying in for the event and there will be room to dance. Folks are asked to bring lawn chairs for the event and any snacks and/or soda they may want during the evening's performance - as food will not be served. The Tuscola Airport is just west of Tuscola then back south. We hope to see you all there!!

August 10 - Back to School Scavenger Hunt- What would Back to School shopping be without a Back to School Scavenger Hunt at Tanger Outlet Center in Tuscola?  Beginning at 1pm, the Back to School Scavenger Hunt leads children throughout the center to various stores picking up school supplies from each.  A backpack with a list of clues will be distributed to the first 500 children at Vanity Fair Outlet.  The hunt is for all children from pre-school to 8th grade.

October 20 – Halloween Pet Party – Enter your pet into the 2nd Annual Hands 4 Paws Costume Contest.  Categories include Funniest, Cutest, Ugliest, Most Original, Best Pet and Owner, among others.  New this year you can have a picture of your pets taken and enjoy games for your pets, such as bobbing for bones.  Come to Wimple Park in Tuscola on October 20 beginning at 1pm.  The entry fee of $5.00 will be donated to Hands 4 Paws.  For more information or questions, please contact Len at 217-840-5148.

Presented by the Tuscola Chamber of Commerce. Volunteer of the Year Award will be presented at the luncheon.
