Old Time Religion Picnic

Douglas County Museum, Tuscola, IL

Sunday, July 8, 2007

4:00pm - 7:00pm

The picnic is open to the public and will feature three hours of entertainment by professional Christian pianist, singer/song writer, recording artist and speaker, "Laurel Jean" of Ramsey, Illinois.
Blind since birth, Laurel Jean contours her programs on an individual basis. She performs for Sunday schools, community organizations, and
special events such as dinner concerts and educational/motivational meetings throughout the United States.  In honor of Tuscola's 150th anniversary, her repertoire of music will include Christian music that has been sung in houses of worship on the Illinois prairie over the decades.  Picnic-goers in this 150th anniversary event in the
Douglas County Museum can expect to hear old time gospel music and more modern tunes that are both serious and lighthearted.

The cost of the picnic is $10 per person and free to children under 5 years old.
The price includes Laurel Jean's music and a "made-from-scratch/all-you-can-eat" indoor picnic of sandwiches, summer salads, chips, popcorn, relishes, desserts, and lemonade and tea.
